This hotel with 60 rooms, all different, is located by the river, right in the historic center of Belém, in one of the most beautiful and emblematic areas of the capital. Built in the former governor''s house in the Torre de Belém, exquisitely restored, on Roman remains probably from the 1st to 5th centuries, the hotel is a palace building that was once a Chapel. The entrance is made through the courtyard where the “cetarias” (stone vats) of the old Roman fish sauce factory, “garum”, are exported in amphorae to the entire Roman world. The reception lobby is located in the old Chapel, with original restored tiled walls, wooden choir and double height ceilings. The genuine historical-architectural value is revealed on each of the five floors of the hotel: in the vaulted ceiling of the restaurant room, in the successive arches of the rooms on the ground floor and in the tile paneling in the rooms and suites. The south-facing terraces offer a privileged terrace over the outdoor pool, the Belém Tower and the Tagus River. Below the patio, the SPA maintains the Roman walls of the centuries. I to V.
